Moody and muddy

I went for a wander around my local patch of countryside this morning. It’s ridiculous that that I’ve lived in my house for 16 years but I’ve only walked in the nearby fields a handful of times.

I found a nice 2.75 mile route this morning that passes through a series of open cow fields and down a quiet country lane. It also passes a dairy farm; all the cows are currently inside their winter quarters. That’s a good thing too – the fields are very wet and muddy.

It was a moody and gloomy walk this morning with the early snow shower turning into sleat and then light rain. Just as I got home, the sun started to break through the cloud but only briefly and it’s now gone back into hiding.
